Read the Open Letter calling for Special Legislative Session to Fully Fund Public Schools

Public schools across Washington State are experiencing a funding crisis and our state is not meeting its constitutional duty to fully fund K-12 education.

Public Education is a basic human right. In 2013 our government bailed out Boeing with $8.7 billion and we need our government to show up for us right now with at least the $4 billion gap in education funding that Superintendent Of Public Instruction Chris Reykdal is requesting from the legislature.

This open public letter to Governor Inslee calls for a special legislative session to provide appropriate funding for the education of our children.

The Gatewood Elementary PTA has submitted this letter and names of those that have signed the letter in connection with a bylaw amendment proposal on November 1st, 2024.
